 This watercolor highlights the beauty of Xtabay, whose kindness earned her a peaceful death, and the beautiful and fragrant Xtabentún flowers that grew around her grave.
 It also reminds us of the misfortune that occurs when, upon dying, the envious Utz Colel pretends to be the sweet and generous Xtabay and returns on full moon nights to take away drunken men who pass near the ceiba tree where she lives and lead them to their death.
 Beauty and sweetness can be deceptive and lead us to tragic outcomes.
