 The story of Xtabay tells of the tragic end of Utz Colel, a beautiful but selfish woman who envied the lovely Xkeban (Xtabay). Death left her only thorns and a foul odor in the form of a tzacam cactus. Since then, she seeks victims every night with a sinister and deadly love.


 The watercolor reminds us that, although the Tzacam cactus has beautiful flowers, like Utz Colel, these can be just as deceptive as it is when it pretends to be Xtabay.
 It reminds us of the sad fate of the men who follow her on nights of the full moon.
